DIY Eye Cream

12:52 Unknown 1 Comments

Our first DIY tutorial!
This eye cream is extremely easy to make with 4 simple ingredients. It will help target darkness around your eyes (from those late nights) and puffiness! Keep reading to find out how to make your very own.

What you will need:

1. Container
2. Spatula
3. Stirring stick
4. Green tea
5. Aloe Gel
6. Licorice Extract
7. Thick Cream (We used: Shiseido Ibuki Refining Moisturizer Enriched)

Small container (Contact lenses case work well too!)
Small spatula and stirring stick

Green Tea
-Tones and improves skin complexion
-Rich in antioxidant
-Vitamin K: decreases dark circles and puffy eyes

Aloe Gel (We used: Nature Republic Aloe Vera 92%)
-Contains Vitamin E and C
-Vitamin E: Soothing, antioxidants, moisturizing and heals skin cells
-Vitamin C: Anti aging, boosts collagen (Skins firmness) production, brightens

Licorice Extract
-Anti inflammatory (reduces swelling and redness)
- Natural skin brightener

Thick Cream (We used: Shiseido Ibuki Refining Moisturizer Enriched)
-Used to balance the consistency and add additional moisture to your eyes.

Let's Start!

First, start with the Aloe gel. Using a clean spatula, scoop out enough to fill your container half way.

Then, taking the Licorice extract, put around 10 drops into the mixture.

Squeezing out the excess from the chilled green tea, add a couple of drops into your eye cream.

Mix evenly.

Finally, slowly add in bit by bit your choice of thick cream. You can always build up the thickness, so start with only a little. Eye creams are meant to be light in texture and gel like for easy absorption. However, this cream will add additional moisture!

Mix well and then shake with the lid closed tight. Don't worry if there are little clumps inside, if your moisturizer is thick it may take a night for it to dissolve properly. Leave it over night and shake it thoroughly before the first use. And Voila! We hope you enjoy this easy and simple eye cream!

A Versatile New Year

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Hope everyone's had a fabulous start to 2016 :) Although it's getting pretty chilly (and by chilly, we mean freezing cold) up here, we managed to take off our winter coats for a fun shoot. We wanted the theme to be versatility -- versatile outfits are great because you can dress them up or down with just a few changes of accessories!

For a casual look, Lena paired her thick, comfy cardigan and boyfriend jeans with Stan Smith sneakers and a vegan leather backpack. By changing the shoes into a pair of black peep toe booties, switching the backpack for a crossbody bag, and throwing on a wool hat, you create a similar outfit with an entirely different vibe.

Here, Jay is wearing a cozy knit turtleneck sweater (an absolute essential for those cold & windy days) with black runners and a cute backpack. Probably one of my favourite lazy go-to outfits!

By switching up the runners for a pair of classic black heels and a leather crossbody bag, you go from a casual go-to outfit to a chic winter look...something you could wear to a brunch date with your girls? :)

Thanks for dropping by! Hope you found some inspiration from our versatile outfit ideas :)
Stay warm everyone<3

Love,
Lena & Jay
