Jay's November Picks

The cold and dry air completely damages my hair in the winter. I really like this L'Oreal Paris Oleo Therapy Perfecting Oil-Essence as it not only prevents my thin hair from frizzing, but the 6 flower oils in it (Including Argon oil, coconut oil, chamomile extract to name a few) keep my hair happy and soft. It also has a very "silky," silicone, dry oil texture that I find helps keeps it light on the hair and not get it greasy. The scent is light floral, coconut, but disappears quickly.
Application: I usually use 1.5 pumps, and rub it evenly in my palms to warm it up. Then I distribute it through the ends of my hair when it's still damp from showering.

Price: 10-15$, depending on where you purchase.

I've personally been using Laura Mercier High Coverage Concealer for Under Eye for a while now. My under eye circles demanded my attention the moment I entered university. Those late nights at Robarts Library caused me to run to Sephora in the search of an easy under eye concealer.

Application: The best way to apply this product is with your fingers as the texture is thick and creamy and requires the warmth of your fingers (4th finger is the best one!) to blend it out evenly. You only need a pin dot amount to cover, and can cake up if you apply too much. A little goes a loong way! I also like to set it with a bit of powder to make sure it doesn't crease.
Shade: 3.5 for NC25-30
Price: 29$ on Sephora

This Shu Uemura Painting Liner, I've got to say, is my holy grail eye liner. It has a super soft, creamy texture that, when applied, just glides so smoothly. Because of its texture, it lets me smudge and blend it easily, but when dry, it absolutely stays in place! Quite a few people have been asking me how my eye liner stays put till the ends of the day...of course a good primer helps with that but I think the secret's in this formula.
You can find this painting liner at some Sephora stores (not all carry Shu Uemura, though). It is a bit on the pricier end, sitting at $30 CAD..but I think it's totally worth it :)

My skin gets ridiculously dry as soon as the cold weather hits. I normally use Kiehl's UltimateStrength Hand Salve, but when I went to grab one earlier this month, they recommended I try their limited edition ones. So I picked this baby up, the Richly Hydrating Hand Cream in Grapefruit. They also had Coriander and Lavender, but I personally liked the Grapefruit scent the most. It has a subtle, but distinct refreshing citrus smell. One thing I absolutely love about this hand cream is that it's very rich and thick, compared to a lot of the more liquid-y hand creams. And for my dry, cracked winter skin, a rich and thick cream that hydrates my skin all day is what I need.

Price: $18.00

What were your favourites of November, and have you tried any of these as well? Leave us a comment letting us know, we'd love to hear back from you!
